My friend Tim Lewis of Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, IL has challenged his church to unite in prayer every day in May. I am participating in this challenge and invite the congregation of Mt. Pleasant to do the same.
The challenge is as follows:
Read a chapter from the Book of Proverbs each day of May. (May 1 – Chapter 1, May 2 – Chapter 2, etc.)
Then use the scripture to guide you as you pray about these five areas:
(1) the end of the pandemic
(2) local/state/national leaders
(3) protection for home and church
(4) renewal of God’s Spirit in us
(5) that unchristian friends become followers of Jesus.
As part of my participation in this prayer challenge, I will share my thoughts on the scripture here in the Pastor’s Blog area of the website.
