Prayer Challenge Day 2

May 2, 2020 By Church Login 2 Comments

May 2

My thoughts on Proverbs 2.

Chapter 2 is chocked full of wise advice. For me, today, the last two verses stand out: 21For only the godly will live in the land and those with integrity will remain in it. 22 But the wicked will be removed from the land, and the treacherous will be uprooted.

Both verses speak of the land bringing in the idea of the Promised Land. Solomon is referring to the covenant relationship Israel enjoyed with God. We too can enjoy the blessing of peace that can only come from a covenant relationship with God through Jesus Christ, a relationship that assures a future in the Promised Land of Heaven. Without that relationship, life is chaotic and you face an eternity in hell.

My Prayer:

Most Holy Heavenly Father,

Today, Lord in reading Your Word, verse 3 tells us to Cry out for insight, and ask for understanding. And, that’s exactly what I’m doing Lord, crying out to you today in Lament. I mourn those that have lost their lives and livelihoods to this pandemic. I cry out for insight, Lord, asking for understanding of why this is happening and what You would have me do as one of Your people during this crisis. Lord, I pray you bring this pandemic to a quick end.

Lord, in praying for our leaders this day, I echo verse 9, that you grant our leaders understanding of  what is right, just, and fair, and  that they will find the right way to go.

Once again Lord, I pray protection for the vulnerable population in my community and church. I pray for protection for the First Responders, the nurses, truck drivers, farmers, shelf-stockers and others who deal daily with public and risk exposure to Covid-19.

And, Lord, I pray for a great revival to sweep through our country. I pray that revival would usher in another Great Awakening. I pray that through this time of crisis that people both inside and outside of the church turn to You.

I pray all these things in Jesus name, AMEN.

Rob – I shared your challenge and wanted to let you know that five other women have joined me. We have a private Facebook group for sharing reflections. Your prayers today are so heartfelt that I linked to them.

You challenged your congregation, but Praise the Lord His church is much bigger. Be encouraged Friend Pastor – when you throw out those seeds you never know where they will land! I’m praising God that I saw this seed on Facebook.

Post this or keep it private – it isn’t important to me.

Prayers for me, please. I am preparing a virtual presentation to a local MOPS group. “Momilies and Homilies for Pandemic Parenting” is the title. I’ve prayed over this, was halfway done with it, and started over late last night. Praying this is HIS message. Praying for a clear presentation of the gospel. It will be shared this Tuesday night.
