Prayer Challenge 27

May 27, 2020 By Church Login Leave a Comment

May 27

My Thoughts on Proverbs 27:

Verse 1: Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring really sums up live in pandemic and lockdown.  Soon after Christmas last year the choir chose its Easter Cantata and began practicing soon after with idea of also presenting it in a prison where I do ministry. Well that blew up along with every other church’s Easter Plans. But, Easter still came. We still celebrated the resurrection of our Savior. Because of the pandemic more churches than ever conducted online services. I believe this past Easter more people worldwide heard the Gospel than any time in history. We will never know how many eternities were changed because the pandemic forced us to not only change our plans, but the way we presented the Gospel.

Jesus reflected the wisdom of this verse when he said: “So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. (Matthew 6:34)

My Prayer:

Father God:

Today, Lord, I will just let Your Word guide my prayer. Verse 20 reads: Just as Death and Destruction are never satisfied, so human desire is never satisfied. I think of this pandemic and the death and destruction it has caused and continues to cause. I think of unscrupulous people who use the crisis for personal gain. Lord, God just end it.

Verse 17: As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. Reminds of the blessing of the family and friends You have given me. I ask that guide their ways and protect them.

As I pray for my leaders Verse 12: A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions… stands out like a neon light. God gives us prudent leaders who foresee not only health danger, but economic danger. Give them wisdom to take precaution and necessary action.

Verse 23: Know the state of your flocks, and put your heart into caring for your herds, reminds me to pray for my church the flock you have given me to under-shepherd. Give me wisdom as we plan our reopening, may it provide the vulnerable with protection and present the Gospel to the unbelieving. God make us a lighthouse on the prairie that shines the light of Your glory.

I pray these things in Jesus name. Amen.
