“He guides me in the paths of
righteousness for the sake of His name.”
Psalm 23:3

Please forgive me for becoming such a
distrusting skeptic. I consider myself a true
optimist. My blood type is B+! But when I
learned that the Food Pyramid endorsed by
the FDA is truly not healthy for us, I began
to wonder about a lot of things. Are they
really putting more raisins in the cereal or
are they using a smaller scoop and it now
takes two scoops to put them in? Why does
the picture of a cereal bowl on a box of
cereal look so much bigger than the ½ ounce
serving size they recommend? (Read the
fine print: Picture enhanced for texture.)

That dog food with 20% more meat… 20%
of what? Sounds good but what if they only
had one ounce of meat to begin with? And
just what kind of meat? Spam?

If the serving size of a pickle spear is only ¾
of a spear, what are we to do with other ¼?
Really? Does anyone eat ¾ of a spear? You
can’t make this stuff up!

Oh, I do hate the cynic I have become. I
long for the good old days when fast food
was fast. When the US Postal service was
quicker than the Pony Express. When New
& Improved really did mean better for us or
the environment. Yet with all my
negativity, I still have one source of
encouragement. The Word of God is still
sacredly valid. It needs no improvement.

I can have complete confidence in a God
who loves me so much He sent His only Son
to die for me. That I might experience true
life here and eternal life with Him. He has
no hidden agenda and always works what is
best for me. As I seek His purpose and Plan
for my life, I can trust “He guides me in the
paths righteousness.” If I am willing to
follow His lead I am assured of His
continued presence in my life. Though I may
face struggles in this life, I know I will never
face them alone. He is always near.

“I know that all things work together for the
good of those who love God, who are called
according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28

I can put my faith in the “knowledge of the
truth that leads to godliness, in the hope of
eternal life that God, who cannot lie,
promised before time began.” Titus 1:2

The God who cannot lie will always lead me
to righteousness (living and doing what is
right, true, and best) for the sake of His
(Holy) name. His faithfulness endures
forever.

There is no room for even an ounce of doubt
in my mind and heart about the Lord God
and His good and perfect will for my life.
All of that to say: Be careful where you
place your confidence and trust.
Blessed by you….Bro. Sherman
