Prayer Challenge Day 24

May 24, 2020 By Church Login Leave a Comment

May 24

My Thoughts on Proverbs 24:

Verses 3 & 4 remind me that I am blessed to have parents who raised me well. Those verses read: A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables. It reminds me of a country song by Miranda Lambert, The House that Built Me. I just love the imaginary of these verses and I thank God that I had parents that worked hard to instill wisdom, good sense and knowledge into me. Those generational lessons have been passed down to my children who are passing them to their children. Thank You, Lord.

My Prayer:

As I pray about the pandemic, Lord, I read verse 10: If you fail under pressure, your strength is too small. So many people, businesses and institutions are failing under the pressure of the pandemic, Lord. I pray you strengthen them and ultimately that You will end this crisis.

As I pray for my family and friends, I read verse 27: Do your planning and prepare your fields before building your house. Lord, as my family and friends plan for the reopening of the country I ask that You keep them safe and give them the wisdom they need at this time.

Lord, right in the middle of verse 23 are the words, It is wrong to show favoritism, and it reminds me to pray specifically for my governor. He seems to show favoritism towards one region of the state over the others. Anyway, that’s perception, Lord, and the people from the rest of the state resent him and his leadership because of it. Give him Your wisdom, Lord.

And as I pray for the church I am guided by verse 12: Don’t excuse yourself by saying, “Look, we didn’t know.” For God understands all hearts, and he sees you. He who guards your soul knows you knew.  He will repay all people as their actions deserve. It reminds that here and now plays a part in the hereafter. What we do today has eternal consequences. God, burden our hearts to share the Gospel. And, Lord I pray for those who don’t know you, let me understand that words  “I didn’t know” will not be accepted on Judgement Day.

I pray these things in Jesus name, Amen.
