My Thoughts on Proverbs 21:
Today, verse 2 speaks to my heart: Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. It saddens me that even the pandemic has been politicized. It seems everything about it is being fought about along Left/Right political parties. Everyone will say they are doing what it correct in their eyes, but is what is best for the people? Only God knows.
My Prayer:
Oh, Holy Heavenly Father,
My heart is trouble as I reflect on verse 2 and how much everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes with little regard for what is right in Your eyes. Forgive us Father. I beseech You to end the pandemic, the shut-downs, the suffering. Hear our prayer O Lord.
I just pray Verse 3: To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice, over my family and friends, dear God. Lead them to do right and what is acceptable to You. Teach them to practice justice.
As I pray for the leaders of my nation and state, verse 5 rings like a clarion call: The plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, But those of everyone who is hasty, surely to poverty. As they plan to move forward make them diligent and not hasty in what they do and why they do it. To much is being done for political motives and the people suffer.
Lord, I pray for revival in the church. Verse 21 calls upon to practice righteous and mercy and I pray we in the church do that. That we grant grace to those that disagree with us and pray for mercy for those that oppose us. That we might not lose a good witness.
The end of Verse 31: … But deliverance is of the Lord reminds to pray for those who have no relationship with You. I pray that even in this time of turmoil You grant us opportunities to share the hope we through Jesus Christ with someone.
I pray all these things in Jesus Name. Amen.

“what is best for the people? Only God knows.” Amen
Praying church leaders (Proverbs 23:23) seek truth, wisdom, instruction, and understanding as we consider when and how to open.
And we do not know the mind of the Lord. (Weird, passing, only 1/4 serious thought here… What if bars opening before churches is the Lord protecting His own?)
Trusting Him, not my own thoughts. 🙂 This is all going to take humble prayer.
