Prayer Challenge Day 16

May 16, 2020 By Rob Cleeton Leave a Comment

May 16

My Thoughts on Proverbs 16:

Several verses in this chapter remind of God’s sovereignty. Verse 4 reads: The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster. Back in 2003 the Newsboys released a praise song called He Reigns. The chorus goes: It’s all God’s children singing Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns, He reigns; It’s all God’s children singing Glory, glory, hallelujah, He reigns, He reigns. How uplifting to know that God in the midst of pandemic God is in control, moving, redeeming, reconciling. He has a purpose even in disaster. We as His people need to sing glory hallelujah He reigns. There is so much I don’t know, but I do know God and He’s got this. He has a purpose.

My Prayer:

Lord,

Today, I am just overwhelmed with the reminder You are sovereign, You are in control, You reign and even in the midst of this pandemic You have a purpose. I do want this pandemic to end. I do want the time of isolation and shelter-in-place to end. But, Lord, above it all I trust You have a purpose. I trust, You God.

God, I pray for my family and friends who are each dealing with the effects of the pandemic. I ask that You protect them from harm. I ask that You give them wisdom and discernment in their decision making at this time.

I pray that You give our leaders wisdom, Lord and that we would unite during this time of crisis.

God, I thank you for Your unfailing love and faithfulness. I rejoice that You provided the Atonement that reconciled us back into relationship with You. I pray that the church be revived and boldly share the gospel. I pray that those who don’t know you will open their hearts to the gospel and receive the grace that You offer.

I pray all these things in Jesus name. Amen.
