Prayer Challenge Day 14

May 14, 2020 By Rob Cleeton Leave a Comment

May 14

My Thoughts on Proverbs 14:

I guess in the midst of so many wise saying of this chapter, the one that spoke to my heart today was verse 26: Those who fear the Lord are secure; He will be a refuge for their children. It reminds me that there is security in having a relationship with God through Jesus Christ that counters the problems of pandemic, economic down turn and the isolation of shelter-in-place. It reminds me that God is our true refuge in times of crisis.

My Prayer:

Father God,

Once again I come to You after reading Your Word. It guides me as I pray. I read Verse 13: Laughter can conceal a heavy heart, but when the laughter ends, the grief remains. And, I think of people who grieving because of this pandemic. Those that have lost loved ones and suffered from the disease. Those that face economic ruin. We can be distracted for a moment but reality of loss soon returns. Lord, I ask that you end this pandemic.

As I pray for family and friends, I read Verse 16: The wise are cautious and avoid danger; fools plunge ahead with reckless confidence. Lord, give my family and friends wisdom to avoid the danger of this disease. Guide them to take the necessary precautions to keep safe and yet still provide for their families.

Verse 28: In a multitude of people is the glory of a king, but without people a prince is ruined. Reminds as I pray for our leaders that they seek Your wisdom in doing what is best for the multitude of state and nation. That they not use this crisis to further divide us and seek some kind of political gain at the expense of the people.

Verse 27: The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, that one may turn away from the snares of death. Lord, this verse reminds me that you provide what is necessary for eternal life. May the church once again drink from Your living waters and be revived to share not only share the gospel but to live it out.

And Lord, Verse 12: There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death, describes most of the non-believers I know. Lord, just soften their hearts to the gospel and give me opportunities Lord to share the Hope I have.

I pray all this in Jesus Name. Amen.
