My Thoughts Proverbs 11:
Chapter 11 is again wise sayings that vary on topic, but good advice for all. Verse 23 spoke to me: The godly can look forward to a reward, while the wicked can expect only judgment. Just another reminder of how good it is to be a relationship with God through Jesus Christ. I have that blessed assurance of a heavenly home after I day. I have the blessing of enjoying just a taste of heaven this side of the grave through the church. I do not have to fear death. But, those without that relationship have a life of drama, trauma, and chaos, then the judgement. The Bible says: And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation. (Hebrews 9:27-28).
My Prayer:
Father God,
Today, I do pray for the end of the pandemic, but I pray that during this time of isolation that those who have exiled themselves from You because of a bad church experience or wrong priorities will recommit to their relationship with You. I pray that those who are in bondage to sin will repent and come into a relationship with You. God use this pandemic to revive and restore the church. Use this pandemic to awaken those who don’t know You.
Lord, I pray for our leaders. I read verse 14: Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers and I fear Lord. Give us wise leadership at the national, state, and local levels, Lord. Burden their hearts to do what is right, not what is politically expedient. I reflect on verse 11: Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart. I ask that You help me be an upright citizen that does good for my community.
Father God, I pray for vulnerable in my church and community and ask that You keep them safe. I pray for the frontline medical workers and first responders, Lord protect them from harm.
In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
