“Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.” Col 3:5-6
This coming Saturday, September 28, we have chosen to hold a Medora Block Party in an effort to reach out to the community. We must keep our goal in mind. Our purpose is to make connections with people we would not otherwise see or interact with. The food and activities we have planned, with four other churches, are designed to draw attention to Medora and surrounding area residents. We want the opportunity to introduce ourselves and get to know people and their needs. Our hope is to demonstrate the care, concern and love of Christ as we make new friends. The following are a few suggested questions to help us interact with our special guests:
What brought you here today?
Do you have a church home? Are you currently attending there?
If you were looking for a church, what would you be looking for?
What do you believe are the greatest needs in our community?
What would be the best way for our church to minister to you and your family?
What specific need could we help you with today?
Would a food pantry be of any help?
Can I pray for you today? (Then pray with them!)
Don’t forget to invite them to church! Offer to meet them at the door!
We will have several free pieces literature to give away: a Life Book, 3 Circles Conversation Guide, and a small book on the Life and Teachings of Jesus.
Please plan to be there Saturday to help us connect with our friends and neighbors!
Blessed by you…Bro. Sherman
