Giving Thanks Day 9

November 9, 2020 By Church Login Leave a Comment

Romans 1:21: For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their reasonings, and their senseless hearts were darkened.

Today’s passage is warning to unbelieving world. In the preceding verses Paul makes it clear that God reveals Himself to mankind in many ways and even in our very nation we know there God exists. But, most people choose to ignore God and follow their own reason.

That is why the idea of Karma is so popular these days. Instead, acknowledging God and seeking Him through a relationship with Jesus Christ people choose to ignore God and think that if they do enough good deeds or better yet one great good deed it will wipe out their bad deeds.

As Paul points out this is futile. John put it this way in His gospel: For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.  For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but so that the world might be saved through Him.  The one who believes in Him is not judged; the one who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. (John 3:16-18).

Let’s pray.

Father, God,

Thank you for revealing Yourself to us in so many ways. Thank you that loved us so much that you sent your Son to die for us.

Lord, we know so many who are futile in their reasonings and have dark senseless hearts. God, give us boldness to share the truth of the Gospel with them. God, give us opportunities to share your Gospel in these dark times.

I pray these things in Jesus name, Amen.
