A young woman in my church has taken up the challenge of spending 10minutes each day during the month of November to mediate and reflect on God’s Word about thanksgiving. I’ve decided to join her in this challenge, and I challenge you to do the same.
Day 1
Colossians 3:15-17: And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.
In this day of cultural chaos it is tough to let the peace of God rule in your hearts. And, the only way the peace of God can rule your heart is if you let the word of Christ dwell in you. Spend just 10 minutes a day dwelling in the Word by mediating and reflecting on these Thanksgiving readings and see if it doesn’t bring you some peace.
Let’s pray:
Oh, Holy Heavenly Father,
In these days of community crisis and cultural chaos we cry out to you to bring us peace. Open our hearts and minds as we contemplate upon your Word and guide how we might best apply it in our lives. Thank you for the peace of your presence. Your Word tells us that You will never leave or forsake us, that You will walk us through the valleys of our lives. We stand on that promise, Father.
We all these things in Jesus name. Amen.
